Number Flashcards DOWNLOAD Pack 1 (Pre-k – Elementary level)
Pack 1 can help to teach counting, number recognition, number order, addition, skip counting, colors, and matching skills.
Each numeral has a set color which helps young learners recognize number patterns. For example, all of the numbers ending with 1 are in red and all numbers ending with 2 are in orange and so on.
Below each number are colorful car counters which help as a visual reference for younger learners. The small car counters are very useful for children who are learning numbers for the first time. Numbers can be counted by the teacher or by the student.
As it is common to have children in your classroom of higher and lower ability, a teacher can ask a child of lower ability to count the cars, and a child of higher ability to answer questions like “How many red cards are there?”. Having the ability to regulate the difficulty between students whilst using the same material makes a teacher’s lesson smooth and more fun for everybody.
Another benefit of having the car counters is that they can be used to introduce addition. For example “What are 3 cars plus 2 cars? Let`s count together!”.
All flashcard packs are 1-100 but the packs can be mixed and matched to play games or customize a child’s learning experience.
I’ve found that the best combination is to use numbers 1-30 of pack one and numbers 31-100 of pack two. If a child can read numbers up to 30, then he or she is not likely to need the counters anymore (unless you are teaching skip counting). Keeping the car counters for numbers 1-30 helps aid learners who lack number confidence, creating a kind of number training wheel.
Number Flashcards DOWNLOAD Pack 2 (Preschool level – Elementary level)
Pack 2 of the number flashcards is almost identical to the first pack. The only difference is that there are no car counters. These cards are perfect for mixing with pack 1 to optimize a child’s concentration. Having no distractions on the card helps the children focus more on the number itself, but reduces the number of questions that can be asked about the card.
There is also lots of space on the top and bottom of the cards. This allows a teacher or student to hold the card easily without covering the number.
Just like the first set, these cards can be used to teach number recognition, counting, skip counting, addition, and colors. The cards can be mixed with pack 1 to customize the difficulty for your students. If the cards are for older students, you might even print them in black and white.
Number Flashcards DOWNLOAD Pack 3 (Preschool level – Elementary level)
Pack 3 of number flashcards contain large numerals and maximizes visibility, perfect for a large classroom. The cards can be printed up to A3 and can be printed smaller. These cards are perfect for matching games, number order, and any other number of activities.
When the numbers are printed in a modest size, the cards can be laid out in rows of their corresponding color. This not only makes them fun to look at but also makes the flashcards easier to order when laying them down for an activity.
Remember everything is FREE, so why don’t you try out each set and see what works best in your classroom? Having all three sets means you will be prepared for a class of any size at any level!
